Artifacts show-and-tell to Focus on Hickory Hill

WARRENSBURG Warrensburgh Historical Societys popular Artifacts Night will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 7 PM. The event, open to all, will be held at the Senior Center, on Main Street, starting at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided. Handicap parking and ramp access is off Elm Street.

Everyone is invited to bring something historical to show. Memorabilia from Hickory Hill Ski Area will be especially welcome. Hickory, which began with a rope tow 60 years ago, is closed now but left many fond memories behind. Other artifacts, in the form of old photographs or postcards, books, household objects or tools, are also welcome.

Artifacts Night has proven to be among the most popular events of the society and offers an opportunity to reminisce about Warrensburgs past, however recent or distant that may be to attendees. Artifacts displayed at previous events include log marking hammers, apothecary bottles, advertising thermometers, trolley schedules, family diaries, photos and newspaper clippings.

For more information or a recent copy of the societys Quarterly contact the society at P. O. Box 441, Warrensburg, NY 12885 or call the president, Steve Parisi, at 623-2207.
