The North Country Cultural Center for the Arts presents Kaddish in Wood, a show by Dr. Herbert Savel from Sept. 8 - Sept. 29. This is woodcarvings recreating and representing the Holocaust. Call 563-1604 for gallery hours.

There will be an undergraduate information session for SUNYs Empire State College for November and January terms on Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. in Room 114 Ward Hall at 101 Broad St on the SUNY campus. For further information call 877-372-6754. I know of several adults who have received their degrees through this fine institution with most of it being accomplished by independent study. If you are in a position where you are unable to attend classes, but are yearning to return to school, give them a call.

On Sept. 16 the annual Fall Rummage Sale will be held at the Saranac United Methodist Church on Route 3 from 9 p.m. - 10:30pm. The best news is that all items are free!!

On Sept. 18 the United Way will hold their Kickoff Breakfast at the American Legion Post 20 at 162 Quarry Road at 8:30 a.m. This event, which is open to the public, has a cost of $9 per person or $50 for a 6-person table. On Sept. 22 the Annual Heart Walk will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the PARC oval. Registration is from 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. The walk is 3 miles and is family and pet friendly. Shorter walks are available. Breakfast will be provided by Hannaford and lunch by Subway. A very important cause.

On Sept. 22 the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church will held their Autumn Festival at 127 Beekman St. The festival will include a bake sale, a book sale, plan sale, a SERVV sale, and a white elephant sale. Fast foods will be available from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and the chicken barbecue will be held from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
