Seminar planned for charitable landowners

LAKE PLACID The Adirondack Community Trust (ACT) invites professional advisors and landowners for a CLE credit-bearing seminar focused on helping individuals and families realize their charitable desires through creative gifts of real estate.

The seminar will include: trends behind the growing interest in real estate gifts; profile of a real estate donor; common approaches to real estate disposition and a menu of alternatives and case studies on outright gifts, charitable remainder trust with a second home, charitable remainder trust in combination with a conservation easement, charitable gift annuity with a second home and retained life estate with a principal residence. The presenter Dennis Bidwell of Bidwell Advisors, draws on his extensive track record of working with conservation and preservation organizations, colleges and universities, families and their professional advisors, community and private foundations. http://www.bidwelladvisors.com

The seminar is being sponsored by the Adirondack Community Trust, the Adirondack Chapter of The Nature Conservancy and the Rural Law Center of New York at Heaven Hill Farm in Lake Placid on Sept. 12. Registration and breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. and the seminar will start promptly at 9:30 a.m., ending by 11:30 a.m.
