The Middlebury Area Land Trust will celebrate its 20th anniversary of land conservation work in Addison County with the members' annual meeting and a public open house.
The event, which will include recognition of people crucial to MALT's development and success as well as remarks by our guest, Vermont Governor Jim Douglas, will take place from 2-5 p.m. (annual meeting at 3:30) on Saturday, Sept. 8, at its new Marble Works offices by Otter Creek Falls.
The trust also announced its annual Trail Around Middlebury (TAM) Team Trek; it will take place Saturday, Sept. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Marble Works by the Otter Creek Falls.
The TAM Team Trek, or T3, is a run/hike/bike-a-thon in support of the 15 mile-long TAM's maintenance, improvement, and expansion.
Participants are encouraged to gather pledges and complete one or more sections (.2 miles) of the TAM individually or in teams. Prizes are given for highest pledges in several categories. This is a great event for families or business team-building.
