Geraghty seeks re-election

WARRENSBURG Jonathan Jon Geraghty is seeking re-election to a third term as Warrensburg Town Councilman.

Geraghty said the top issues are expansion of the sewer district, the industrial park and brownfields projects.

The existing wastewater treatment plant is near full capacity, he said, so in order to proceed with the expansion of the district, the town needs to address additional capacity at the plant.

We need to continue to work to bring tenants to the industrial park, Gerghty said. We have interested parties who want to locate there.

Once the Warrensburg Board and Paper and the Econoquick Brownfields projects are completed, the town needs to determine how to best utilize those properties.

As we look to the future, the town faces some tough challenges, Geraghty said. We need to replace the highway garage. The existing building is too small and outdated. Is the water supply going to be adequate in 10 years? We need to plan ahead and keep moving Warrensburg forward to be able to accommodate future growth. At the same time we need to be aware of the taxpayers needs to complete these projects in a fiscally responsible way. Geraghty has the endorsement of the Republican Party and will be on that ballot in the Sept. 18 Primary election.
