The 25th All-State Green Mountain Senior Games are scheduled for CSC on Friday, Sept. 14, with registration at 8 a.m. at Glenbrook Gym on the campus.
The games kickoff at 9 a.m. with a 5K road race, tennis, swimming, 3-on-3 mens basketball, badminton, and croquet. Other events in the morning include bowling singles, precision walk and health screening. A Drop-in Center will be open to display photos and mementos, and for reminiscing about the past 25 years.
Senior games are open to everyone age 50 and up, residents and nonresidents with competition in five-year age groups in numerous events ranging from those which require a high degree of physical fitness to those more social in nature. Gov. Jim Douglas is scheduled to be on hand for the 25th anniversary celebration and awards, which are set for 2:30 p.m.
Some of the afternoons events at 1 p.m. are table tennis, softball throwing for distance and accuracy, Frisbee throwing, pickleball, racquetball, basketball spot shooting, and golf chipping.
