Wikoff featured guest at Lake Placid Institute

LAKE PLACID The Lake Placid Institute - Luncheons With Artists presents The Power of Art in Healing, with Naj Wikoff on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Wikoff uses the arts to change lives. Wikoff will discuss some of the unique and common challenges facing Russian healthcare, how he was able to use the arts to help address some of those challenges, and raise the funding to pay for it from Russian sources, in and of itself precedent setting.

Wikoff has been a consultant and director of the Healing and the Arts Program at the C. Everett Koop Institute at Dartmouth Medical School, where he was successful in incorporating the arts into medical school curricula and hospital practice. He is president of the Society for the Arts in Healthcare, an international organization based in Washington, D.C.

These visits with artists begin at 11 a.m. with an informal presentation of works in progress, followed by lunch. Call 523-1312 for reservations and directions. The cost is $25.
