Trail Ride to benefit rescued horses scheduled at Santononi Preserve

NEWCOMB On Saturday, Sept. 15 (rain date September 16), Crane Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, Inc. of Westport, New York will hold its third annual trail ride and family fun day at Santanoni Preserve in Newcomb to benefit the rescue program. Stephanie Lockhart of Red Road Farm in Morrisville, Vermont will be on hand with her Colonial Spanish horses to talk about the importance of preserving this historically important breed.

This is a bring-your-own-horse trail ride. If youre not a rider, thats okay too, because there is plenty to do for the whole family. There will be a family-style barbeque, horse-drawn carriage rides, raffles and door prizes, with Crane Mountain Valley Horse Rescue t-shirts, sweatshirts and caps for sale.

If youre a rider, or would like to participate in the carriage rides, Crane Mountain asks you to pre-register and recruit sponsors. There will be prizes awarded for the person with the most sponsors, the person who raises the most money, the youngest rider, the person who travels the furthest distance, and more. Registration is $20 per person which includes coffee and donuts during registration, the ride, a barbeque lunch, a presentation on the formation of the rescue and the importance of Natural Horsemanship, plus a chance to win one of many door prizes. All proceeds benefit the horses at Crane Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, Inc.
