Sentinels feature talented, experienced roster

TICONDEROGA A veteran, experienced Ticonderoga gymnastics team enters the 2007 season with plenty of optimism.

The Sentinels return a pair of the Champlain Valley Athletic Conferences top performers as they try to improve on last falls 3-6 record.

Morgan Jordon, who qualified for last seasons state championship meet in the floor exercise, is back along with stalwart Chelsea Budwick.

Jordon and Budwick will each compete in the all-around competition, floor exercise, balance beam, vault and bars for Ti.

Morgan Jordon and Chelsea Budwick will be very competitive in the all-around competition this year, Coach Diane Granger said.

Granger, who has been an assistant coach the past four years, is at the helm in place of long-time Coach Dee Hughes, who has taken a maternity leave. Tammy Best is serving as assistant coach.

Michaela Jebb also returns to the Ti roster and will compete in the all-around competition, floor exercise, balance beam, vault and bars.

Aileen Granger is back for her senior season. Shell compete in the floor exercise, on the beam and in the vault.

Rounding out the team are Emily Palmer, Sammy Plude, Lizzy Smith, Jamie Pachett, Amanda Charlton and Ryann Wiktorko.

Palmer will see action in the vault and on the bars.

Plude will compete on the bars.

Pachett will be in the floor exercise, on the balance beam and on the bars.

Charlton will be in the floor exercise, on the beam and in the vault.

Plude, Smith and Wiktorkos events are still uncertain.
