Schools announce new staff

Schools throughout the area are preparing to start the school year, and all have new staff members to go with the new school year.

AVCS
AuSable Valley Central School new staff includes Kurt Munson director of health, physical education and athletics. Munson is a graduate of Viterbo University, Eastern New Mexico University and the University of Montana-Western; Andrew Johnson Earth sciences, is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh; Javier Perez Spanish. Perez was Spanish teacher at Lake Placid Central, and is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh, the University of Kansas, and Benedictine College; John Ruff III science teacher. Ruff was a science teacher at Willsboro Central, and is a graduate of Clinton Community College, University of Albany, and SUNY-Plattsburgh.

At Au Sable Forks Elementary, new staff includes Shyloah Praczkajlo first grade, who has been a long-term substitute at Au Sable Forks Elementary School, and is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh and the University of Maine, Orono; Janelle Hughes Grade 1, was a part-time art teacher at Au Sable Forks Elementary School and is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh; and April Weber - part- time art teacher, and a graduate of SUNY-Cortland and SUNY-Potsdam.

ELCS
The Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School new hires include Scott J. Osborne principal. Osborne is a SUNY-Plattsburgh graduate; DeAnna Blair school counselor is a graduate of Central Washington University; Catherine Sweatt special education teacher, is a SUNY-Plattsburgh graduate.

Keene
New staff at Keene Central School include Alison Barr biology; Kristen McLain part-time physics/chemistry teacher; and Jennifer Hackett elementary teaching assistant.

Westport
Westport Central School new hires include Sam Verkey Reading First educator, is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh; Lynn Bubbins first grade is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh; Alyson Monaghan social sciences teacher for secondary students; Vicki Chambers secondary English teacher is a graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh; Natalie Sabuda Earth sciences teacher is a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh and Hobart and Williams College; and Adam Facteau business teacher is a graduate of SUNY-Oswego.

Willsboro
The Willsboro Central School new hires include Michelle Dragoon living environment, chemistry, and middle-school science teacher. She is a 2005 graduate of SUNY-Plattsburgh in chemistry and is also obtaining certification in biology and physics; Rebecca Holzhauer art teacher is a graduate of Hartwick College and Sage Graduate School. She has studied abroad in both Italy and Spain; Charmaine Flynn all-level mathematics; Marie Mercier-Blatchley - French teacher. She has certification in elementary education and has experience working at Mountain Lake PBS as their communications director.
