Open house, turkey shoot and dedication planned

JOHNSBURG The Johnsburg Fish & Game Club will be having an Open House Turkey Shoot and Dedication at the Club on Oven Mountain Road in Johnsburg, Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the rebuilding and remodeling of the club's shooting bench.

The public welcome to attend.

The club thanks its members (Shawn Warrington, Ben Gadway, Buck & Evie Goodspeed, Roger & Claudette Jones, Adam Clark, Jack Batha, George Hayes and his son Jake; also Justin Persons, a nonmember) that volunteered their time to this project. The club would also like to give thanks to the businesses (T.C. Murphy's Lumber, Mead Lumber, John Schaeffer, Jim Jones Excavating and Shawn Warrington Construction) that donated materials for the project.

The shooting bench is being dedicated to Roger & Claudette Jones, of Johnsburg, who are longstanding senior members. They have been active members of the Johnsburg Fish & Game Club for 40 plus years and are still extremely active in the club's activities. Roger is the Johnsburg Fish & Game Club's representative on the Warren County Conservation Counsel and also the Adirondack Region Five Conservation Counsel. Please call Buck or Evie at 251-2762 with any questions.
