PLATTSBURGH Celtic rock quintet Enter The Haggis will be playing The Battle of Plattsburgh on Friday, Sept. 7 in Plattsburgh. The tickets are free and the band will play from 6:30 8:30 p.m. on the City Hall Steps. Enter The Haggis just released its new album, Northampton (Live) amidst a busy tour schedule on August 14, 2007 on new model indie United For Opportunity.
The follow-up to 2006s Soapbox Heroes, the live record showcases Enter The Haggis unique version of Celtic rock that blends elements of rock, pop and bluegrass with traditional Celtic fare. After years of studio albums, and a great deal of musical evolution since 2003s Live at Lanigans Ball, it was about time ETH recapture the raw energy and musical prowess of the kind of live show that has left not only fans, but die hard Haggis Heads in its wake nationwide.
Recorded over four sold-out shows on March 9 and 10, 2007 at the Iron Horse Musical Hall in Northampton, MA and mixed with Zach McNees at Saint Claire Studios in Lexington, KY. The record acts as a Best of album, combining the most rocking songs from the past two studio records: 2006s Soapbox Heroes and 2005s Casualties Of Retail. Its an album of new approaches both improvised and rehearsed to music from the past few years.
A workhorse group that tours nearly 150 dates out of the year, Enter The Haggis has amassed an ever-growing, devoted tour following from its humble Toronto roots. Recently, the band experienced a major mainstream breakthrough this March when it was invited as a performance guest on Live With Regis and Kelly.
The band will be touring throughout the summer and fall, and in March 2008 will be making its second trip to Ireland for a tour with friends The Elders, and bringing a couple hundred Haggis Heads along with.
The Battle of Plattsburgh is located at the City Hall Place in Plattsburgh.
