Auditions slated for 'Twelve Angry Men'

SARANAC LAKE Pendragon Theatre will hold auditions for its next production, Twelve Angry Men, on Sunday, Sept. 16, at 1 p.m.

Originally a 1954 live television drama, Reginald Rose's version became a cinematic classic later in the 1950s. The stage version was first produced in 1964, with revised versions in 1996 and 2004.The most recent production garnered several awards and is touring throughout the Unites States.

An examination of the American melting pot and our judicial system, Twelve Angry Men pits one man's belief in "reasonable doubt" against the preconceptions of eleven other jurors. The jury room erupts into a heated debate which ultimately forces each man to face himself.

Pendragon's production opens Nov. 1, and plays periodically into February in Saranac Lake and "on the road."

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. For further information about the auditions, the schedule, or Pendragon's other programs, contact the theatre at 891-1854 or via e-mail: pdragon@northnet.org .
