Adirondack wedding to be broadcast on cable channel

CHESTERTOWN An Adirondack wedding was their dream, but having it broadcast on television made it even better. Stewart Hamilton-Frank, the bride, and Jim Mundy, who live in Mystic, CT, were familiar with the area. Mundys family has been visiting Loon Lake for generations, so the decision was easy. Stewart was named after her grandfather, Dr. T. Stewart Hamilton.

The two are from Long Island where their families still reside, according to Edrie Squires, of Posies in Warrensburg, who did the flowers.

They didnt want a factory wedding down there, so they applied to the Style Channel to have their Adirondack wedding on the show, Married Away, Squires said. They got the call about three weeks before the wedding.

Planning the wedding was hectic, as weddings go, but it came together on Thursday, Aug. 16.

We are, by nature, relaxed people, appreciative of the input and creativity of others, said Jeanne Hamilton, mother of the bride. Were not bridezilla, groomzilla or mother-of-the-bridezilla.

Hamilton said that the wedding went off beautifully, even with the presence of a TV crew. Susan Brand of Susan Brand Salon was chosen by the bride to do hair and makeup for the wedding party.

She said she had never been in a salon that was so relaxing, Brand said. It was a very interesting day, we did hair, nails and makeup for seven. Brand did hair while her daughter, Gabrielle Kuba did the brides hair and makeup for all.

I don't wear much make up and keep my hair simple and natural, Hamilton said. They respected that totally and made me a neater version of me.

Squires said that the Style Channels wedding planner called repeatedly, changing and adding flowers to the order.

My wholesaler was having a coronary, Squires said. Then they changed the day theyd come in to record and I couldnt be there; Id promised my granddaughters a trip to the Bronx Zoo, and I have my priorities. Squires missed the actual taping, but said she had more fun at the zoo.
