CASTLETON InvestSmart Vermont will present two investor education seminars on November 7th at the Godnick Center in Rutland. The first seminar, which will begin at 11a.m., will be about Understanding Financial Products, including information on stocks, bonds, mutual funds, diversification, and saving and investing. Starting at 1p.m., the second seminar will provide information on how to Investigate Before You Invest, focusing on recognizing and avoiding fraud, along with tips for selecting a financial professional. Both of the seminars, along with a buffet lunch, are free to those who register in advance. To register for either or both of these events, please contact Lori Hickey at (802) 773-1853. Lunch will be served between the seminars, from noon until 1p.m. The goal of the InvestSmart Vermont organization is to improve consumers knowledge of investing concepts, and make them less susceptible to financial abuse and fraud. Seven investment seminars have been held in the Rutland and Castleton areas. The speakers have included John Cronin and John Reese from the State of Vermont BISHCA Securities Division.
