Sentinels blank Lake Placid

Juliann Mandy and Samantha Cawley led Ticonderoga past Lake Placid, 2-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 17. Mandy scored with an assist from Cawley to give the Sentinels a 1-0 lead in the opening half. Cawley scored, with Mandy assisting, to ice the contest in the second half. Arielle Vilardo recorded the shutout in goal for Ti, making nine saves. Seton 7, Moriah 0 Seton Catholic clinched the Division II title by beating Moriah, 7-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 17. Rhea Breyette scored twice for the Knights. Elizabeth Wallace made 12 saves for Moriah. Indian Lake/Long Lake 4, Schroon Lake 2 Schroon Lake lost to Indian Lake/Long Lake, 4-2, in a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference cross-over girls soccer game Oct. 17. Jessica Mehm scored twice for Schroon. Lynn Ververka added an assist for the Wildcats. Mindy Whitty made eight saves in goal for Schroon Lake. NAC 3, Moriah 0 Northern Adirondack beat Moriah, 3-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 19. Kaylee Rabideau had a goal and an assist for the Cougars. Elizabeth Wallace had 15 saves in goal for Moriah.
