PORT HENRY Helen E. Pereau, 82, of Edgemont Rd., Port Henry died Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital. She was born August 13, 1925 in Witherbee, NY, the daughter of James and Julia (Foyjek) Hagey. Helen worked with her late husband Clarence on their family farm, Morning Side Farm in Port Henry. She enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening and watching her birds. She also enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, Michael Jordan and NASCAR Racing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her sons, Lowell (Bud) Pereau and his wife Ella Mae of Moriah, Frederick Pereau and Cheryl Davis of Port Henry; her daughters, Natalie Hamlin and her daughter Rose of Knoxville, Tenn, Gloria Pepper and husband Frank of Port Henry and Betty Lou Green and husband Pete of Moriah; her brother, Joseph Hagey of Witherbee; her sister Margaret Hagey of Witherbee; her grandchildren, Danielle Pepper, Peter J. Green and his fianc_asey Carpenter, Ben and Ashley Tromblee, Lowell Pereau Jr., Jill Yakalis and her children Caleb and Thomas, Galen Pereau and Valerie McKinnen; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her pet dog Harley. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great grandchild. She is predeseased by her husband Clarence, her sons Clarence Jr. and Galen, her brothers John, James and Paul Hagey and her sisters Mary Cross and Julia Kozma. Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 19 from 2-5 pm at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sat. 10 am at St. Patricks Church in Port Henry. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Port Henry. Donations in Helens memory may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad, the Westport SPCA or to a charity of ones choice.
