Ever seen a Geisha pug?

CHESTERTOWN In its early days, youd see some dressed as bumblebees, or bikers, but now many are getting more elaborate in their costumes. The eighth annual Pug Halloween Parade at Dynamite Hill set a record of over 175 pugs last Sunday, and they came from as far as Florida and Pennsylvania. Airville, P-A, said Lisa Kerner, who came with her pug Porky, dressed as a pirate. Four hundred and twenty-seven miles. She said she has come to the pug parade every year. Meadow came as a geisha, and owners Michelle Martinez and Larissa Ray even created a little stage for Madame Pugerfly. Granville native Sarah Scott traveled from Jupiter, Fla. where she now lives for her first ever pug parade. She built a replica of a tugboat, dressed her pug Humbucker as a sailor, and christened the boat a Pugboat. This is awesome, said Lester and Sheila Snyder of Burnt Hills, there for the first time. I didnt expect this many pugs. They dressed as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leah, and their pug was Darth Vader. April Miano brought her eight-month-old pug from Oswego to see what it was all about. We got really, really lost, so we were too late to register, she said. Bur now that I know how to get here, well be back! Pugs this year came as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, three little pigs, a reverse dalmatian and Cookie Monster, and Megan Robillard dressed her pug as a lobster and herself as a chef. Thats my mom, she pointed to the woman in the lobster dinner bib. I work in a restaurant so I thought wed come as a restaurant. Fattycide showed up from Saratoga. Owner Margaret Assman said her pug, Matsui, was not running for the roses. Hes running for the refrigerator, she said.
