A need to feed the needy

We are writing this letter to you to make you aware that we have hungry people right here in Clinton County. The Mooers Food Pantry has been helping feed the hungry from Mooers, Mooers Forks, Champlain, Rouses Point, Ellenburg Altona, Chazy and West Chazy. We have found the number of people applying for food to be increasing each month as cold weather approaches and the cost of fuel, gasoline and medical needs increase in alarming proportions. What are these people to do? Do we stay warm or eat? Do we go to the doctor or eat? Do we get our prescriptions or eat? No one in America should have to make these decisions, let alone in our county. We are feeding 125-150 households! These numbers are increasing every week as cold weather approaches. We need your help now! We are asking for a one-time donation or, even better, a pledge of money each month. Every little bit helps. We are not feeding the needy in Africa or elsewhere, we are feeding the hungry in our own area. Please help if you can. Checks can be made out to Mooers Food Pantry, and mailed to Mooers Food Pantry, in care of Mrs. Janet Brooks, 693 Gilbert Road, Mooers, N.Y. 12958. If you have any questions regarding this program, please call the co-directors, Wendell or Diane Brooks at 236-4763. Thank you in advance. Diane and Wendell Brooks
