Westport resident lauds town, Willsboro businessman for efforts

To the editor: Westport is in the final stage of a water and sewer project. While at times it has been particularly trying, civility has prevailed and our community has emerged with relationships relatively intact. I would like to thank our Supervisor Dan Connell, Deputy Supervisor Ike Tyler and the remaining members of the town board for their measured persistence in steering the project to completion. Our property is on Main Street. Those of you driving through Westport can reference the location as the lot that had the mountainous pile of dirt. This was a result of the drilling and blasting under the state road to accommodate a large connecting pipe. To say the least, our lawn was trashed. The contractors made several well intentioned but inadequate attempts to restore the property to its previous condition. When the company realized that good enough was not going to be good enough, its subsequently hired John Sheehan and Sons of Willsboro to meet the spirit of the easement extended by my wife and me. For this we are very grateful. Thank you, John Sheehan and crew, for the job you did. The attention paid to every detail was extraordinary. As I expressed my ongoing satisfaction to one of your workers, he stated your organizations goal: Whatever it takes to please the customer. It was a pleasure to deal with a businessman who did what he said he would do and had the equipment and manpower to complete the task in a timely fashion. Ray Spadafora
