Support campaign

To the Times of Ti: As many readers know, the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties has begun their 2008 annual campaign with this years goal $700,000. Being a volunteer with this years campaign, I challenge anyone considering making a contribution. Who of you hasnt watched a local news story or read a local newspaper article and was left wondering to ourselves, I wish there was something I could do to help, but how? Then there are the reported stories of positive happenings within our locality for which we are all thankful such good things are happening. Do you ask yourself, what can I do to help keep up the good work, and how? Chances are with any of these stories; help is already there or is on the way thanks to the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties. For those not making the news, many, many of our friends, family or neighbors are benefiting from services provided by agencies of the United Way community partners. The United Way is open to a wide cross section of agencies that at any time any one of us could one day benefit. United Way contributors have the freedom to where their gift is directed. The designation of their tax-exempt contribution can be directed to one or more specific agencies, a particular area of personal interest or to whatever needs are most pressing. One comment I have repeatedly heard and seen in action within our area is about the overwhelming generosity of its people. I urge anyone, whether youre a corporation, business, or individual, to keep this spirit of caring and giving alive with a contribution of any level to the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties.
