Shoreham woman selected in pagean

Christine Golden of Shoreham, daughter of Robert Golden and Elizabeth Pidgeon, has been selected to participate in the Miss Vermont USA 2008 Pageant, being held at the Sheraton Hotel in Burlington Nov. 24-25. According to Golden, each delegate will be judged in swimsuit, evening gown, and personal interview. The winner will represent Vermont at the Miss USA Pageant in 2008. Among the many state prizes offered to contestants such as Golden, are cash, wardrobe, interviews with top talent and modeling agencies, jewelry, evening gowns to be worn at the national pageant and more. The most exciting of all is an expense paid trip to the national pageant, Golden said. If she goes that far, Golden will compete for the prestigious title of Miss USA and a prize package and the opportunity to fulfill a personal goal. Golden is employed by Frog Hollow Craft Gallery and is a student at Clark University. She has been sponsored by Vermont Sun, Middlebury Bagel and Deli, Neat Repeats, Vermont Beads and Fibers, Storm Caf_Autumn Gold, Ben Franklin, Neil and Ottos, Gregs Meat Market, County Tire, Sweet Cecily, and BeJeweled. Tickets to the Burlington pageant event are available by calling 781-321-3500.
