Berube leads Sentinels to wins

Lee Berube raced to victory at the Burnt Hills Invitational cross country meet in Saratoga Oct. 13. The Ti runner was clocked in 15 minutes, 25.4 seconds to win by a minute. Berube led the Sentinels to a third place finish in the boys Varsity I event with 97 points. Geneseo won with 69. Brendan Carberry was 15th for Ticonderoga, followed by Jared Best 20th, Mike Lonergan 25th, Jay Berube 36th, Eain Tierney 49th and Alex Walters 52nd. In the girls Varsity I race, Ticonderoga was 11th. Amber Perkins led the Sentinels, finishing 60th. Sentinels win Lee Berube set a course record in leading Ticonderoga to Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys cross country victories Oct. 16. Ti beat Saranac lake, 21-35, and Saranac, 15-46. Berube ran the 3.1-mile course in Cadyville in 15 minutes, 58 seconds breaking his own record of 16:12 to win the race. Brendan Carberry was third for Ti, followed by Mike Lonergan fourth, Jay Berube sixth, Jared Best seventh, Josh Cook 12th and Eain Tierney 15th. In girls action, Ticonderoga lost to Saranac, 15-50, and Saranac Lake, 15-50.
