HINESBURG The Champlain Valley Union High School got together for a little Rally in the Valley and a dance on Friday, October 12, to raise some school spirit for the CVU Redhawks athletic teams to carry with them as they geared up for Spirit Day on Saturday, October 13.
Friends, family, faculty and the student body gathered at all of the CVU fields Saturday despite gloomy weather. The home teams combined for a 2-1-1 record on the day.
Thanks to the Friends of CVU
It may have been a cold, rainy day on Saturday, October 13, but that didnt dampen spirits for the Friends of CVU.
The organization was on hand throughout Spirit Day to warm the hearts and the bellies of students, faculty and family members alike with sandwiches, hot and cold beverages, and plenty of autumn cheer to go around.
The Friends of CVUs mission is to help create a sense of unity among parents, staff and in the community. Members of the group include residents from Williston, Hinesburg, St. George, Shelburne and Charlotte, and the organizations aims to create and promote a support network for all communities involved with the Champlain Valley Union High School.
According to the groups mission statement, the Friends of CVU serve the following functions: to foster and enhance communication among parents and between CVU and the community; to support students through participation at their events, facilitation of events for students and providing resources for student events; to build a network of volunteers to augment services and programs at CVU; to form and support action committees; and to provide funds assistance for programs and events.
All money received through the organizations efforts on Spirit Day will go towards supporting various other events scheduled for the rest of the school year.
