William Edward Cooley

WILLSBORO William Edward Cooley, 70, of Mountain View Drive, Willsboro, N.Y., died at CVPH Medical Center Oct. 1, 2007, after a short illness. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., Dec. 29, 1936, the youngest child of John and Florence (Strong) Cooley. Mr. Cooley is survived by two children and their spouses, Steven and Cora Cooley of Keeseville and Wendy and Carmen Cross of Lewis; six grandchildren, Conor, Logan and Tia Cooley, Jamie Conklin, Joel Cross and Danielle Conklin and her husband Jacob Derivan; a brother, John and his wife Janice Cooley of North Carolina; and a brother-in-law, Robert Huestis of Westport. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn (DeGroff) April 23, 2005; grandson, Reegan Cooley; brother, Wendell; and sisters, Evelyn Rumney, Flora Huestis and Lucretia Stephenson. Calling hours were held at the Huestis Funeral Home, Maple Street, on Oct. 3, 2007, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held following calling hours. Burial took place in New Burt Cemetery, Whallonsburg. Pastor Richard Hoff of the Westport Bible Church will officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in his memory be made to the Willsboro Rescue Squad.
