Wildcats top Crown Point

Schroon Lake shut out Crown Point, 2-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Oct. 3. Jessica Mehm scored with an assist from Savannah Clark to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the first half. Kadie Horton scored, unassisted, the second half to ice the game. Mindy Whitty recorded the shutout in goal, making seven saves for Schroon Lake. Britany Peters made four saves in the Crown Point nets. Seton 3, Ticonderoga 2 Seton Catholic edged Ticonderoga, 3-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 3. Trailing 1-0, the Sentinels got a goal from Samantha Cawley to tie the game. She was assisted by Mauranda Wells. After Seton had taken a 2-1 advantage, Carly Tubbs answered for Ti. Kate Murnanes late goal won it for Seton. Arielle Vilardo made 21 saves in goal for the Sentinels. AVCS 6, Moriah 0 Moriah fell to AuSable Valley, 6-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 3. Lindsey Keyser scored three goals for the victors. Elizabeth Wallace made seven saves in goal for Moriah. Plattsburgh 4, Ticonderoga 1 Ticonderoga fell to Plattsburgh, 4-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 4. Mauranda Wells scored for Ti. Arielle Vilardo made 14 saves in the Sentinel goal. Saranac 4, Moriah 0 Moriah lost to Saranac, 4-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer play Oct. 5. Kristie Pageau scored twice for the Chiefs. Elizabeth Wallace made nine saves for Moriah in goal. ELCS 3, Schroon Lake 1 Schroon Lake fell to Elizabethtown-Lewis, 3-1, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Oct. 5. After Jessica Mehm scored to give Schroon a 1-0 lead, ELCS rallied for three second-half scores. Mindy Whitty made five saves in goal for Schroon Lake. Chazy 9, Crown Point 0 Chazy topped Crown Point, 9-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Oct. 9. Victoria Reynolds scored three goals for the Eagles. Westport 1, Schroon Lake 0 Schroon Lake was edged by Westport, 1-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference girls soccer action Oct. 9. Steffi Russell tallied the games lone goal. Mindy Whitty made nine saves on goal for Schroon.
