Volunteer efforts continue at Ski Bowl Park; more help sought

NORTH CREEK The Ski Bowl Park Volunteer Day held on Sept. 29 was very successful. Twelve community-minded people showed up to brush out a hiking/snowshoeing trail from the beach, up through the woods around the landfill area, and back down through the draw between the landfill and the tubing slope. Originally figured to be a two-day job, the trail cutting was completed quickly. Also, barbecue pedestals were brought to the beach picnic site and holes dug for future installation. The Ski Bowl Park Committee wishes to thank the following for their enthusiasm and hard work: Noel Dingman, Anne Morse, Joel and Joe Levy, Lou Falzerano, Doug Cole, Bob and Tomoko Manning, Ed and Donna Welch, and Kelly and Bob Nessle. A second volunteer day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the beach pavilion. Jobs will include marking the trail, raking debris from dirt used for the gardens, distributing stone dust along the nature trail, and installing the barbecue pedestals. Anyone who wants to pitch in is welcome. Bring a rake or shovel and work gloves. Bring your lunch. Soda and a charcoal burner will be provided. Oct. 20 is a rain date if Saturday is rainy. If you have any questions, call Kelly Nessle at 251-3739.
