I would like to thank the following people and businesses for their assistance with this years Best Fourth in the North parade.
Assisting were Kristie Mars of PRIDE of Ticonderoga, Debbie Malaney and Bonnie White of the Ticonderoga Chamber of Commerce, Phil Huestis and the town (highway) crew, Chief Mark Johns and the officers of the town police department, New York State police, John McDonald, Don Olcott and the bus driver for the transportation of the Fort Ticonderoga Fife & Drum Corps, Michael Edson and the members of the Fort Ti Fife & Drum Corps, Susan and Howard Rathbun of Rathbuns Jewelers, Terry Brannock of Brannock Properties, Wicker Ford for the use of its parking lot, the Wagon Wheel Restaurant, Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union, Stan Burdick for being grand marshall and guiding us through the cartoon theme, Bill Dolbeck, all the merchants displaying cartoon characters in their windows, Pat Armstrong and all the residents on Race Track Road and Supervisor (Bob) Dedrick and the town board for all their support during the year.
I would especially like to thank my wife, Beverly Trudeau, Jason Greenwood, Earl Bennett, Brian Crossman, Larry Trudeau, Dave Little and committee chairman Dan Crossman and the rest of the committee for their support and assistance in this endeavor.
Thanks to all involved. The parade stepped off at 2 p.m., even with the rain. With all the volunteers and good people of Ticonderoga we can always count on having the Best Fourth in the North.
The town of Ticonderoga committee has already begun working on next years events, such as Ti Idol, parade, fireworks and other social events and fundraisers. It is the goal of the committee to improve on each years Independence Day celebration.
