NORTH CREEK Our Town Theatre Group will stage Neil Simons comedy Fools on Oct. 19, 20, and 21. Directed by Colleen Doyle of Adirondack Touring Theatre, Inc., the play will be presented at Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek. Fools is set in rural Eastern Europe. The characters labor under an ancestral curse condemning them to collective stupidity until the daughter of a humble family marries a scion of the nobility. The main character, a traveling teacher, seeks to break the curse and win the maiden. The play uses the ridiculous to make a serious point about participatory government. Included in the cast are Lori Phoebe Benton, Bill Breidenbach, Mike Corey and daughter Emma, Nina Dougherty, Brenda Foley, Al Ford, Brian OConnor and daughter Ashley, and Andy Studdiford. Ann Hornbeck is production manager, Mary Benton Frasier serves as assistant director, and Eric Potter is lighting designer.
