News From the Town of Johnsburg Library

NORTH CREEK The Town of Johnsburg Library invites you to stop in and check out some of the new books and DVDs. In the fiction category, Away by Amy Bloom tells an epic and intimate story of young Lillian Leyb. In The Choice, #1 New York Times bestseller Nicholas Sparks turns his unrivaled talents to a new tale about love found and lost, and the choices we hope well never have to make. James Pattersons scariest stand-alone thriller ever, Youve Been Warned, tells the story of a young woman alone in the big city with murder in her dreams. Guinness World Records 2008, The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court by Jeffrey Toobin, and The World Without Us by Alan Weisman are three of our non-fiction choices. The library also offers a wide selection of current DVDs. Days of Glory is a war drama about the brave contributions made by North African soldiers who fought for France during World War II. A multi-millionaire wants to know how much his money can really buy in the drama, After the Wedding, by the Danish filmmaker, Susanne Bier. The Town of Johnsburg Library will host a lecture, The Urban Whale, by Jenny Beaudin Ring and Kevin Ring on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. in the Tannery Pond Community Center. These former researchers with the Right Whale Project will introduce you to this remarkable creature and the perils it faces today. Jenny Beaudin Ring is the daughter of Joel and Nancy Beaudin and the granddaughter of Helen Cornwall of North River. The Library Trustees meet the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Just a reminder, there is Preschool Story hour and Crafts every Friday at 10 a.m. in the library.
