Elizabethtown preparing for a Haunting Halloween

Second ghost tour of Elizabethtown scheduled
The Adirondack History Center Museum is offering a Supernatural Tour of Elizabethtown on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. beginning at the Museum. Actors, storytellers and dancers will lead the audience through the town stopping at the Old Essex County Courthouse, the Deers Head Inn and the Riverside Cemetery.

The tour culminates at the museum with a concert by Adirondack Harpist, Martha Gallagher, entitled Songs from the Stones at 4:30 p.m. The songs are a celebration of life inspired by headstone inscriptions. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for children. Wear warm clothing, walking shoes, and bring umbrellas in case of rain.

Festivities continue after the Supernatural Tour with a movable feast to benefit the museum. A buffet dinner will be served at the museum at 5:30 p.m. with dessert offered at the historic Hand House. The evening concludes at the Hand House with a chamber musical performance of Edgar: The Life and Lifes Work of Edgar Allan Poe with music by Phil Greenland at 7 p.m.

The movable feast and performance is $35 per person. The cost to attend both the afternoon tour/concert and the evening dinner/performance is $40. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Contact the Adirondack History Center Museum at 873-6466.
