Williams named Citizen of the Year

Bob Williams, long-time owner of Williams Hardware, Inc. and resident of Poultney has been named 2007 Poultney Citizen of the Year.

The public is cordially invited to join the Chamber in honoring Bob at reception to be held on October 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Poultney United Methodist Church (the white church structure on Main Street).

Presented annually by the Chamber of Commerce, the Citizen of the Year Award honors a resident citizen who has made major contributions to the betterment of Poultney; has distinguished himself or herself through outstanding service to the community and typifies the true spirit of service and self-sacrifice in representing the finest ideals of Poultney citizenship, an "unsung hero" of Poultney. The Citizen of the Year will be the Grand Marshal of the July 4 parade in Poultney.
