Art comes to the park

Many people flooded Main Street Park this past weekend during the 46th Annual Art in the Park Fall Foliage Festival.

Art in the Park is Vermont's oldest continuing artist show with vendors chosen by a jury of area experts and Chaffee Art Center constituents.

Among the entertainment was musical performances, a kid's craft area and door prize drawings. .

At least 100 vendors, from as far away as Texas, showed their crafty items during the two-day event.

At this year's festival there where are demos on how to decorate cakes and watercolor demonstrations.

Musical performances were provided by The Back Home Again Band and local folk pop singer/songwriter Phil Henry .

Crafts included oil and watercolor paintings, pottery, photographs and sculptures, with many crafters showing off their baskets, soaps, clothing, puzzles, jewelry, furniture and stained glass.

Edible goodies from local vendors ranged from veggie wraps, sausage and pepper submarines , candied apples and apple pie.

Admission to the festival was by donation only and all proceeds go to further the Chaffee's community art education programs.
