Library news
The Stony Creek Free Library is seeking a substitute library clerk. Please submit a letter of interest to Stony Creek Free Library, P.O. Box 64, Stony Creek, NY 12878.

Library hours are Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 1 to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Free concert
Adirondack songwriter John Kribs will appear in concert on Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stony Creek Town Hall.

John is an instrumentalist, singer and songwriter whose talents have garnered thirty-five years of critical acclaim. An accomplished guitarist, John is equally at ease on fretless bass, mandolin and banjo. His voice has been described by viewers as "Clear, smooth haunting and captivating.

This event is made possible in part with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program and Warren County, administered locally by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council and the Town of Stony Creek and the Stony Creek Free Library.

The club will be having its annual cruise and buffet luncheon aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrament on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. The entertainment features live music and dancing and an informative narration of the estates and islands in the southern section of the lake.

The buffet features homemade soup, freshly baked rolls, garden and assorted salads, two hot entries, carved deli ham, roast beef and turkey, soda, coffee, iced tea, lemonade and dessert.

Transfer station
The transfer station and recycling center is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Van available
A van is available the first Wednesday and the third Monday of the month for Stony Creek residents over sixty to go to appointments and do some shopping. Contact Anita Braman at 696-2397 for more information.
