Firefighters thankful

To the Times of Ti:

The Hague Volunteer Fire Department wishes to thank all those businesses whose generosity helped to make our August steak roast a success.

We also extend our appreciation to Dave Hoffay and Jim Young who have assumed the roles of co-chiefs through Jan 1 and for the support of the Ticonderoga Fire Department as we move through a period of significant reorganization.

National Fire Safety Week Oct. 6-13 is the time to check your smoke alarms, heating systems and chimneys. Coincidentally, the Firemen's Association of New York is distributing free a Fire Safety Booklet For Older Adults, which is an excellent piece and is available at the Hague Community Center and through the Hague Senior Citizens Club.

We will kick off the week with our traditional fall spaghetti and meatballs supper on Saturday, Oct. 6, 5-7 p.m. Hope to see you there.
