The Addison County Farm Bureau Board of Directors will host the organizations Annual Meeting on Monday, Oct. 8, at the American Legion in Middlebury.
The Annual event is set for 7 p.m. with special guest Vermont Congressman Peter Welch in attendance. More than 350 Addison County members and guests are invited to participate in the policy development process for Farm Bureau.
UVMs Ken Dabbs will discuss the Open Door Clinic for Farm Labor. Dinner will be served to all in attendance. The cost is $20 for tickets at the door, $15 for pre-registered Farm Bureau members.
Call Andrea Ochs at 948-2670 or Bill Paine at 453-2691 to let them know you are coming. Following dinner, a short business meeting will be held to elect new directors and officers for Farm Bureau and to finalize policy resolutions for the organization.
Issues expected to be discussed include illegal immigrants, immigration reform, the current use tax program and proposed changes, and water quality issues.
The group will also hear a report from Vermont Farm Bureau President Jackie Folsom.
