Deer, deer and more...

Lovin every minute of it
A little known fact shared by my fellow outdoor columnist Joe Hackett: Those who did not fill their regular season buck tag last season can use it during the first four days of the Northern Zone bow season.

Thats right, sharp stick enthusiasts, you could have used last years buck tag as well as any unused bow/muzzleloader tags from Tuesday, Sept. 27, to Friday, Sept. 30, on either a doe or buck. Of course, I held this little tidbit of information until after Oct. 1.

More deer for me.

Kidding, of course. I just found out about the situation myself but its something to keep in mind next year. A bowhunter who was unlucky during the past years bow, muzzleloader and regular season can literally have three deer hanging by the Oct. 1 change over.

The DEC continues to increase opportunities for sportsmen to harvest deer and Imas Cosmo Kramer from Seinfeld once saidlovin every minute of it.

Pheasants, pheasants and more...
The first youth pheasant hunt for hunters age twelve to fifteen, held at the Willsboro Fish and Game Club, was a resounding success. Don Sage, vice president of the Essex County League of Fish and Game Clubs which helped sponsor the event, said all participants scored on a bird.

Sage said the league would like to thank all those who made the event a success members of the Willsboro Fish and Game, the dog handler and land owners.

We would like to thank everyone involved in this event for helping introduce these young hunters to the sport of pheasant hunting, Sage said.

And said well, I think.
