MONTPELIER -- The Vermont Congressional Delegation, comprised of Senators Patrick Leahy and Bernie Sanders and Congressman Peter Welch announced this week that a bill is on the verge of being sent to President Bush that if signed, could potentially save health insurance for more than 2000 Vermont Children.
The children, who are currently enrolled in the Vermont State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), are about to lose coverage due to new rules announced by Bush's administration. The trio of representatives from Vermont have been strongly promoting this bill in Washington for the past several weeks.
President Bush has threatened to veto the bill.
