Come and celebrate locally produced sheep and wool on Sunday, Oct. 14, at the 14th annual Sheep and Wool Festival in Pittsford. Events include sheep shearing,felt making, fleece skirting and spinning demonstrations. Throughout the day they will be working their border collies, showing how they train these incredible dogs for stock work.
Local 4-H sheep groups will demonstrate sheep handling, hoof trimming and fitting for shows and will give a sheep-breed power point presentation.
There will be different breeds to see and touch, and a variety of wool products and crafts for sale.
Bagpipes, folk music and locally produced food for all to enjoy will round out the day.
The festival will be run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. behind Vermont Camera Works, Route 7, Pittsford.There is no admission charge. All are welcome, including leashed, friendly dogs.
