Willsboro

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Weather changes seem to hasten our locals that go to warmer climates to head out this week. Several like to spend Thanksgiving with children that live out of the area and then head to their winter destinations. Elections are really over now with the absentees counted the election results stay the same. We wish to thank Darren Darrah for his term of office on the Council and look forward to his running again in the future. Hopeful that many could attended the recent production of Annie at the local school. The students did an outstanding job and it was a most delightful event to watch. The students show great talent and this was the last local school performance for veteran actor Ryan Pierce, we hope he continues to follow his talents in some area of theater. Another holiday event that was a pleasure, was the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service at the Foot Hills Baptist Church last Sunday evening . The Willsboro United Methodist Church started the local holiday season with their successful Holiday Craft Fair and Luncheon this past weekend. More holiday events will take place here the first weekend in December. Mark your calendars and plan to attend the upcoming movie Once that will be playing at the Willsboro School at 8 p.m. on Nov. 24th, it is reviewed as a most delightful love story of two musicians and their story. Admission is $5.00, under 18 is $2. This is put on by the Champlain Valley Film society. A great first happened here near Veterans Day, as Mrs. Sheehans third grade class invited Mr. Ed Collins to come talk to them about being in the service. As an added part of that project the students went on a school bus down to the Veterans moment on Main Street, where he showed them the names of those that had served. The amazing part of this story is that this was Mr. Collins first ever ride on a school bus in all of his 83 years of life, he was thrilled. Birthday Greetings to Mertie Strong 11/27, Dennis Kalma 11/29, Florence Hathaway 11/30
