Marvin relayed that Philip Bush was elated when he shot a eight-pointer Thursday. Some people say there are more deer this year. Others say they can't find a track. Thank you
Thank you to a very special congregation at the Newcomb Methodist Church for their prayers for my mother, Lois Butterly. Please continue your prayers. She made it through her heart surgery on Oct. 16 and received a new aortic valve but had major complications and has been in the ICU for over four weeks now on a ventilator. It has been a very difficult time for our family but we are finally seeing some signs of improvement and she spent 24 hours today off the ventilator (she has a trachea tube now). She has a long recovery yet learning to eat and speak again as well as breathing and will need constant prayer! We hope to get an opportunity to travel up from Delaware to Newcomb over the Christmas Holidays to visit our church friends if my mom continues to improve. Beth and Joseph Garvilla You can help
Kevin Bolan and his daughter Emily are heading to the Dominican Republic again this year. They need your help in supplying the mission. The Dominican Republic Ecumenical Mission is planning their Tenth Medical Spiritual Mission to San Pedro de Marcois in the Dominican Republic. This Mission is based out of St. Eustace Church in Lake Placid and is one of several in the Diocese Of Albany. The medical team will plan to see about 1000 patients during our short stay in the Dominican Republic. Seeing this many patients means we will need an enormous amount of supplies and medications. The 2008 trip dates have been set. They are Feb. 29 to March 9. They are now asking for your help in securing the following donations. Medications (MOST NEEDED) Antifungal Cream Hydrocortisone creams Antibiotic Ointment Vitamins (adult, children and prenatal) Ibuprofen/Tylenol/Aspirin (Infant, Children, Adult) Medicine must not outdated before March 2009 Personal Care Items
Shampoo / Conditioner Toothbrushes / Toothpaste Washcloths School Supplies Lined Paper Light Weight Colored Paper Colored Pencils / Crayons Rulers / Scissors Glue Sticks Colored Markers (Washable) Pens / Pencils / Erasers Sewing Supplies Needles, Thread, Small Sewing Scissors, Buttons There is also a need for hearing aids for our Audiologist. While the team members pay their own way (airline, hotel and food, $1,400 per person) there is still a large need for monetary donations to help cover such expenses as medications that must be purchased in the Dominican Republic ($3,000 - $4,000). If you are able to support the mission bring supplies to St. Eustace Church. (Or Contact Robin Baxter 523-9472) For monetary donations make checks payable to St. Eustace Church. **Please denote "DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MISSION" on the memo line of the check. And mail to: Dominican Republic Mission
