Meadowbrook Healthcare hosts senior prom

PLATTSBURGH Seniors recently had the opportunity to enjoy a prom held in their honor but not the seniors you might expect. Senior citizens at local skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility Meadowbrook Healthcare were treated to A Trip Down the Red Carpet, a senior formal designed especially for the residents of the facility last Sunday. The event, co-sponsored by the Inter-Sorority Association and Inter-Fraternity Council at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, was part of the greek organizations Week to Give. Approximately 30-50 Plattsburgh State students assisted in the set-up, preparation, implementation and clean-up of the event. The event included formal dress attire with dresses donated by Lauras Bridal in Plattsburgh. Limo rides were also made possible during the event courtesy of Ground Force One Limousines and corsages for all participating residents were provided by Country Expression Flowers and Gifts. Entertainment was made available by the popular band Flashback." Meadowbrook Healthcare is very proud to be able to provide quality life enrichment programs such as the senior prom to our residents, said Vicki Marking, Meadowbrook community relations coordinator. This wonderful event would not be possible without the support and assistance of the students at Plattsburgh State and the giving spirit of many local businesses. There is absolutely nothing more special than to watch our residents get excited about this program and thoroughly enjoy every minute. Nothing could be more rewarding for any of us.
