Essex gets festive for Christmas

Most of the activities are no-cost, added Prudhomme.

All Three Days
10 a.m.-5 p.m. - Village shops open
10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Local artisans at Art Association Building and town hall
Noon-5 p.m. - Coloring Contest entries displayed in St. Johns Episcopal Church
5:30-9 p.m. - Essex Inn Dinner

Friday, Nov. 30
10 a.m.-5 p.m. - Belden Nobel Memorial Library open, with holiday books available
11:30-2 p.m. - Essex Inn lunch
4:30 p.m. - Town tree lighting ceremony with caroling
5 p.m. - Supper at St. Johns Episcopal Church Hall
6 p.m. - Bonfire at Cabins by the Lake with marshmallows and hot chocolate

Saturday, Dec. 1
9:30 a.m. - Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by ferry, Willsboro School Band playing at Essex ferry dock
9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. - New York State trooper and canine demonstration
9:45 a.m.-11 a.m. - Breakfast with Santa at Essex Fire House
10 a.m.-5 p.m. - Belden Nobel Memorial Library open, with holiday books available
10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Alpacas on display
10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Community Church bazaar with luncheon 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
11 a.m.-2 p.m. - Horse and wagon rides
Noon-2 p.m. - Westport High School girls caroling
1-3 p.m. - Steven Kellogg book signing at Essex Inn
2-3 p.m. - Essex Theatre Group sings seasonal songs at Masonic Hall
3-5 p.m. - Historic Essex Holiday Open House at Greystone
3-5 p.m. - Polar Express Movie at Masonic Hall

Sunday, Dec. 2
Noon - Chili Cook-off at St. Johns Episcopal Church Hall
