Bushey's New and Used Furniture strives to keep the customer their number one priority

BEEKMANTOWN When you ask Randy Bushey what he and his brother Richard aim to do most, its simple keep their customers happy. The brothers business, Busheys New and Used Furniture, has striven to do just that since the business was established in 1960 by their father, the late Harry Bushey. Were local people third generation Beekmantowners and when we face our customers we want them to be satisfied, said Randy. Following their fathers philosophy hard work goes a long way, the Bushey brothers put in countless hours each week to ensure quality products are made available at reasonable prices. The business has grown since their fathers day. When Harry opened up shop nearly 50 years ago, he started the business in a two-car garage attached to the family home where his beloved wife Alfreda, Randy and Richard lived. While Harry was at his full-time job at the local mill, his wife would tend to the furniture store as well as take care of the two boys. Harry and Alfreda agreed to put all of Harrys earnings away from his job at the mill and to live on the money from the furniture store for one year. If they could be successful at this, Harry was going to leave the mill and a furniture man he would be. One year later, Harry discovered he was successful in his endeavors and left the mill. As the business grew so did the need to hire his first employee in the 1970s. Through the years, as Richard and Randy grew older, they grew more fond of the furniture business and became partners with their father in 1980. They worked hard every day delivering furniture and setting up the showroom floors for the next working day. In 1990, Harry decided to retire and slow down a bit, turning over ownership of the business to his two sons. Today, Busheys New and Used Furniture consists of more than 15,000 square feet of showrooms ranging from new, used, antique and reproduction furniture and accessories. In an effort to keep up with the current trends, they continually look for ways to expand and grow with the ever changing needs of their consumers. The business offers services customers find very helpful, including delivery, repairs, appraisals, in-house stripping and refinishing, removal of used furniture at a minimal fee and consolidation of complete estates. Were different, said Randy with a smile. We buy, sell and trade the new and used. We basically give our customers an outlet to get rid of their old stuff and a place to buy their new stuff.
