Annual Joy to the Children celebration set

LAKE PLACID The Lake Placid Center for the Arts invites everyone to usher in the holidays and celebrate the season of giving at the 21st Annual Joy to the Children Benefit. This gala event co-chaired by Denise Bujold and Peggy Moore will be held at the Mirror Lake Inn on Thursday, Dec. 6 from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are specially priced at $95 per person if reserved and paid for by Dec. 3. After Dec. 3, patron tickets can be reserved for $130 per person. Call the LPCA at 523-2512 for reservations or more information. Lisa and Ed Weibrecht and the staff of The Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa will host this special event for the 21st consecutive year. As in past years, their gracious donation of the Inn makes this long-standing holiday tradition one of the outstanding events of the season. The Inn, decorated for the holidays and overflowing with goodies, will delight guests as they revel in the evenings festivities while raising money for childrens arts programming. Guests will enjoy festive finger foods, cocktails, and the chance to mingle with other holiday revelers. Patrons will be able to purchase specialty goodie baskets, uniquely designed nutcrackers and truly special gifts. The annual Gingerbread House Auction will delight interested bidders with a variety of specially crafted homes to select from. This years Benefit Raffle will be a 50/50 and tickets will continue to be sold throughout the evening. Included in the extensive list of silent auction items patrons will find fabulous trips, art work, fine jewelry, hand-painted furniture and clothing. The children will be represented well with an assortment of books, stuffed animals, computer games and more. The LPCA will be accepting donations for the silent auction through November 27. Any individual or business interested in donating an item to the auction should contact the LPCA office. This annual benefit raises funds to help support over 100 free childrens workshops and some 100 individual programs reaching over 34,000 individuals throughout our region. The LPCA invites everyone to join us for this holiday party.
