Vergennes firm named "Best Place to Work"

VERGENNESDR Power Equipment, the factory-direct catalog company recognized from its television advertisements featuring brawny, orange machines that mow down tall grass and small trees in a single bound, was named as one of the 2007 Best Places to Work in Vermont. This second annual program was created by Vermont Business Magazine, the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce, the Vermont Department of Labor, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) -Vermont State Council, the Vermont Department of Economic Development, and Best Companies Group. The award was announced last week at the Main Street Landing Film House in Burlington. The Best Places to Work in Vermont survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the top employers in Vermont, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The list is made up of small/medium-sized companies (15-199 employees) and large-sized companies (more than 200 employees). DR Power Equipment has been named one of this years Best Places to Work in Vermont in the large company category. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements: Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity; Be a publicly or privately held business; Have a facility in Vermont; Must be in business a minimum of 1 year; Have at least 15 employees in Vermont. Its always a thrill to be recognized as a company with great products and strong financial performance, but the real victory is achieving those goals in an environment of respect and encouragement among coworkers, said DR Power Equipment President Joe Perrotto. It is truly gratifying to know that the votes for this award came from our own employees. DR Power Equipment is an Addison Eagle advertiser.
