WARRENSBURG The First Baptist Church of Warrensb urg is celebrating its 200th anniversary this weekend. To commemorate this they are having two of the oldest pastors who served here joining them for a 200th anniversary harvest dinner Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. Pastor Don Aubrey, who served from 1955-1961 will be coming, and a wonderful letter, from Pastor Don Adams, the churchs longest serving pastor (12 years, 1977-1989) will be read, as well as other letters that come in. The dinner will be potluck in style so those coming for dinner please bring a harvest meal with a little to share. There will be a time of music, including some by Jim Davis, sharing, singing and fellowship after the meal at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 18, past Pastors Don Aubrey and current Pastor Roger Richards will be sharing from Gods Word. The music Sunday morning will include special music by Jimmy Davis, son of Cliff Davis. Cliff accepted Christ, was baptized and became a member of the church over 70 years ago. His sister, Abby Hastings, is our oldest member at 93. It is with great joy we invite all to attend this 200th anniversary celebration and our goal is to give glory to God and His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The church was dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and has continued to do so ever since. The AWANA youth program started under Pastor Paul Meisel and is ongoing. In addition the church has a Creation Center with a six foot long scale model of Noahs Ark, lots of displays, booklets and even some fossils. This center was put together by and is directed by Jerry and Linda Hensler.
