Champlain Centre now features smoke-free entrances

PLATTSBURGH Champlain Centre have designated mall entrances adjacent to Borders and the mall food court and theater as "no smoking" areas. As of Nov. 15, patrons, employees, contractors and visitors are prohibited from smoking in a perimeter of approximately 50 feet around the mall entrances. This new policy has been established in response to consistent feedback we have received from our customers. In the future, the policy could be extended to other areas of our mall, stated Champlaine Centre general manager Dave Napolitan. The decision was made following the recent announcement by CVPH Medical Center and Meadowbrook Health Care their campuses would also become tobacco-free zones as of the 15th. CVPH and Meadowbrook Health Care are two organizations in our community that have announced very aggressive no smoking policies on their properties," stated Mr. Napolitan. "With the well-documented negative effects of second-hand smoke, this local trend is consistent with national trends."
