Abanakee has new service; detoxification through the feet

WARRENSBURG The beautiful building known as Abanakee in Warrensburg has added some new services to its unusual repertoire. Renovated by Kevin OBrien several years ago, Abanakee houses OBriens counseling therapies and his organization, Nueva Esperanza del Norte which raises money to educate central American students so they can return to their countries and help improve the standard of living. Along with OBrien is Stacey Dunkleys Heaven on Earth Retreat for Hands and Feet and Dee Becklers Natural Healing Therapies. Becklers daughter, Jesika, recently became a licensed massage therapist, and is joining the group at Abanakee, with her Healing Hands Massage Therapy. Ill be sharing a room with my Mom, Beckler said. She is splitting her time between Abanakee and the soon to open Panther Mountain Fitness in Chestertown. For an appointment call 321-3497. Dunkley has a new service as well. Along with her manicures, pedicures and therapeutic foot massage, she now has detoxification through the feet. Its a natural alternative, she said. You soak your feet for 20 minutes and the machine pulls the toxins out of your body through your feet. She said the results are quick, unlike other detox methods that include special formulas and juices and fasting. I tell people, its not pretty, she said. You can see the toxins as the come into the water, and it can be disgusting. As a client soaks their feet, Dunkley can explain which organ is being detoxified. She finishes with a foot reflexology treatment to loosen any other congestion.
