Chamber to Present Initial Market Study Findings

NORTH CREEK At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Tannery Pond Community Center, the Gore Mountain Region/Town of Johnsburg Chamber of Commerce will present results of its initial work towards developing a regional branding plan for the Gore Mountain region. This is the next step in developing and implementing a regional branding program for the communities surrounding Gore Mountain and the Upper Hudson River. The Glen Group, of North Conway, N.H., will present to the public its findings and recommendations for a regional branding program. The program will offer information from a review of market studies, regional data, and the input from a series of focus groups that included more than 60 people. The meeting is open, and citizens are welcomed to attend. One of the initial focus group findings was the interrelated nature of tourism activities among neighboring towns, hamlets, and communities. People from Chester, Minerva, Indian Lake and all the hamlets of Johnsburg took part in the groups. They explored the promise of our area to those who visit it, and the benefits of working together in marketing efforts. An effective branding approach will celebrate the contributions that are shared among all the residents and businesses in the Gore Mountain Region.
